New Delhi — India and Israel share a common enemy in terrorism and are working together to eliminate the threat, Union Minister of Commerce & Industry Piyush Goyal said Thursday (February 11) at the India-Israel Business Forum in New Delhi.
Speaking at the event organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Goyal emphasized the deepening ties between the two nations and India’s commitment to economic growth and stability. He highlighted the Indian government’s focus over the past decade on strengthening macroeconomic fundamentals and improving infrastructure to drive prosperity nationwide.
Goyal emphasized that India’s efforts have yielded strong results, noting that India today stands on solid macroeconomic fundamentals, resilient in the face of challenges such as the COVID-19 pandemic, geopolitical conflicts, and economic turbulence.
The minister outlined what he called the “10 Ds” that position India as a key global player: Democracy, Demographic Dividend, Digitalization, Decarbonization, Determination, Dependability, Decisive Leadership, Diversity, Development, and Demand.
India’s system provides a strong foundation for investors, Goyal noted, adding that the nation’s young workforce would be a key driver of economic growth in the coming decades. He also underscored India’s reputation for honoring its commitments, making it a reliable partner for Israel.
Calling India and Israel “natural allies,” Goyal said India’s rapidly growing demand presents investment opportunities for Israeli businesses across various sectors, including technology and consumer appliances.
The forum highlighted the strategic and economic partnership between the two countries, emphasizing mutual benefits in trade, innovation, and security cooperation.
