WASHINGTON — In a significant step for the Washington-New Delhi economic corridor, U.S. Trade Representative Ambassador Jamieson Greer is traveling to India this week to advance key pillars of an expansive bilateral commercial framework.
While in New Delhi, USTR Greer will hold targeted face-to-face meetings with Indian Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal alongside other senior Indian officials on the “historic United States–India Joint Statement and the Interim Agreement.” These discussions form a critical phase of the broader U.S.-India Bilateral Trade Agreement negotiations, which were originally set in motion by U.S. President Donald J. Trump and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Feb. 13, 2025.

Following his engagements in India, Ambassador Greer will transition to Central Asia, traveling to Tashkent, Uzbekistan for trade talks.
